Znuny 7.3: Built-In SAML Authentication, Outbound Email Profiles & UI Refresh

Znuny 7.3 is available today. This release focuses on two themes that matter most to IT teams running production service desks: security and daily efficiency. Here’s what’s new.

SAML Authentication — Built In, Multi-IDP, No Add-On

Znuny 7.3 introduces native SAML 2.0 authentication for both agent and customer user logins. You can connect multiple identity providers simultaneously — for example, agents authenticating against your corporate Azure AD or Okta tenant while customer users authenticate against a separate IDP. No third-party module, no extra configuration layer, no additional licensing.
For organizations evaluating Znuny for the first time, this removes one of the most common questions from the procurement checklist. For existing installations, it means you can retire workaround solutions and consolidate your authentication stack into the platform itself.

Outbound Email Profiles

Service desks often send emails on behalf of multiple departments, brands, or subsidiaries. Znuny 7.3 adds outbound email profiles, letting you define distinct sender configurations — different From addresses, SMTP servers, and credentials — and assign them where they're needed. No more routing workarounds or shared mailbox compromises.

Refreshed User Interface

The UI in 7.3 has been reworked for clarity and consistency. The visual refresh isn’t a redesign for its own sake — it’s focused on reducing friction in the screens agents use most. Cleaner layouts, better visual hierarchy, and more consistent interaction patterns across the platform.

Service, SLA & Ticket Type Selection on More Screens

A long-standing community request: service, SLA, and ticket type fields are now available on additional screens throughout Znuny. This means more consistent data entry, fewer cases where agents need to navigate away to set the right classification, and better data quality for reporting.
Customer Assignment on More Screens
Setting or changing the customer is now possible on more screens than before. This is another quality-of-life improvement that reduces the number of clicks and context switches agents deal with during their workday.

Quick Deploy for System Configuration

Administrators can now deploy system configuration changes with a single click. If you’ve ever clicked through the full deployment confirmation flow dozens of times in a tuning session, you’ll appreciate this one immediately.
